Why Verdant Wonder?

I've been moeinminn for years, but for a while, I've been brainstorming other names that might fit. Aside from the basic requirements for a name, I wanted something that really felt like me. After all, I'm not just a person (moe) in a state (minnesota), I'm a multifaceted, whole ass human. And I'm finally in a place where I don't want to put on a persona or a show. I just want people to see me for me. So I made a big list of words I thought I'd like and started sticking them together until this one made me say, "Yeah, I think that's it".

Verdant

Verdant is a callback to the Minnesota that I loved enough to put in my previous username. Both in my home state and throughout my travels, the places I love most all have this lush, vibrant greenery in common. Have you ever been outside after a rainstorm when everything seems impossibly saturated with color? That's one of my favorite feelings.

Wonder

Wonder is a central part of who I am. It is at the forefront when I'm exploring the natural world, learning something new, trying something scary, connecting with people, parenting, traveling, and so much more. Even in the midst of a gloomy or tedious day, wonder reminds me to be grateful for the beautiful and amazing opportunities life affords us, if only we choose to notice and don't take them for granted.

My colors and images

I chose a dark turquoise green forest color, lavender, and an icy teal to represent elements of nature, and artwork to match. The fonts on my banners and headers are meant to remind people of vintage park signage. You'll see a lot of ferns because I have fern tattoos, and because the unfurling ferns each spring remind us that there is beauty in every stage of life.

So What Now?

I haven't decided entirely how I'll share my life online, whether that's on this website, through an email newsletter, streaming, or some combination of the above. But I have some fun ideas in the works, and I hope you'll join me for the journey!
